Fall 2024
photo journal
The Fall 2024 Program was a two-week adventure in Lock Haven, PA with three new resident artists Danielle Mastrion (Brooklyn), Humble (Brooklyn/Virginia Beach), and Zach Curtis (Detroit). Lock Haven is a small town with an approximate population of 8,500 in central Pennsylvania on the Susquehanna River.
The resident artists researched the area’s history and wildlife, to reflect the area's rich aviation history and Appalachian beauty in their murals. In total, the resident artists and program directors painted 5 murals.
Over the two weeks, the program hosted multiple events for the local community. The program spent 2 days at Robb Elementary school to conduct hands on mural demonstrations and workshops for the students. DOTR teamed up with Station Gallery, a local art gallery, to present an art exhibition open to the public. The local Roxy Theater hosted a free screening of the DOTR documentary "Small Town Big Canvas: An Indiana, PA Story".
